Volair reworked the channel depth and placement so the face flexes where you actually make contact, holding the ball a fraction longer without giving up power. Channels lower on the face steady off-centre hits, so the sweet spot reads bigger top to bottom.
HexGrit face
A T700 carbon face finished with HexGrit rather than peel-ply, which Volair says holds its roughness through significantly more play. Spin that lasts past the first few months is the point.
Dylan Frazier's hybrid
